is Lillie's story in her own words:
I was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) in December 2010 when I was 14.
I was ill for 3 weeks in November 2010 & then the doctor finally decided to do a blood test on the 8.12.10 & we received a call at my cousins 2nd birthday party to say we had to go to the hospital.
I was admitted to Eastbourne dgh & they did more blood tests. The next day they said I would have to go to oxford as there was no room at the Marsden. The John Radcliffe hospital told me that I had ALL.
We stayed in oxford until the 20.12.10 & when I didn’t have to have chemo me & my mum stayed at the Clic Sargent house. The other families & people who ran the house were really nice & extremely supportive. I then carried on my treatment at the royal Marsden. But at intensive stage 2 I suffered a rare reaction to cyterabin & I couldn’t move my left side at all.
We stayed at the Marsden for 8 days & then I had to have a walking stick for 3 months after. I am currently on maintenance.
