Ray's Story

Ray’s wish was one we have heard before. The family had booked a holiday but due to his illness they had to buy a car for travelling to the hospital, so although they had paid the deposit the holiday was going to have to be lost.  That is where we stepped in, and here is his letter he sent to us on returning from Turkey.

Dear CWCF,
Thank you very much for the holiday, it was an amazing experience because I have always wanted to go to a hot country.  Flying in a plane was one of my dreams coming true.  We arrived very tired and went to bed, but when we awoke the next morning we went to look at the pool and then we took a stroll along the seafront.  We went to a lot of places and had to cross the big river on taxi boats that they call ”Dormus Boats”. On Tuesday we went to a place called ”Oludeniz”. We also went to “the Blue Lagoon” where we did some snorkelling and swam with fish that were transparent, it was really cool!  Nearly every day I went swimming with my brother & sister and whilst we were over there we visited our second cousin who lives there.  We also went to some markets, everything was so cheap so I brought back things like clothes, necklaces & photos. I also brought back a great sun tan.

Thank you CWCF & all involved.

A letter from Ray’s Mum

Dear All at CWCF,
We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We had a lovely holiday where Raymond was able to relax & enjoy himself after all he has been through.  You made his dream come true and without your help we would have had to cancel the holiday.  His younger brother & sister have been great throughout Ray’s illness. They didn’t understand at first, but, through the months they have learnt that Ray has been very ill.

So from all of us, have a happy 2002 & thank you.

Angie (Mum)
