Introduction
We recently hosted a fantastic pasta-making workshop at the beautiful Romeo and Juliet restaurant in Hailsham. A group of around 15 children with cancer and their families joined us for a morning of fun, food, and friendship.
A Hands-On Experience
The event kicked off with a warm welcome and a refreshing drink. As everyone settled in, our talented chef took centre stage, demonstrating the art of making fresh pasta from scratch. It was fascinating to watch the process, from mixing the dough to shaping the pasta.
Soon enough, it was time for our young chefs to get their hands dirty! With flour flying and laughter echoing, everyone eagerly joined in, kneading, rolling, and cutting the dough. It was a truly hands-on experience that brought smiles to everyone's faces.
A Delicious Feast
Once the pasta was ready, it was time for the most exciting part – the taste test! Each participant cooked their own portion of pasta and chose their favourite sauce: a rich ragu, a classic tomato sauce, or a simple butter sauce. As we sat together, savouring our homemade pasta, it was a wonderful opportunity to connect with other families and create lasting memories.
A Special Thank You
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to BBC Children in Need for sponsoring this event. Their generous support made it possible for us to provide this unique and enjoyable experience for children with cancer and their families.
