Children with Cancer Fund (Polegate) awarded £79,725 by BBC Children in Need

Children with Cancer Fund( Polegate) has been awarded a grant of £79,725 over three years by BBC Children in Need. This grant will fund social events and support for children with cancer and help make a difference to the lives of children and young people facing disadvantage right here in Wealden.

 The project works towards improving young people’s mental wellbeing by providing practical and emotional support and social events to unite children affected by childhood cancer. With the support of BBC Children in Need, Children with Cancer Fund will be able to continue reaching out to the young people in Wealden by funding a range of social events and support services.

 

Chloe Wenham, Operations Manager at Children with Cancer Fund said: “We could not provide this level of support for young people in Wealden with out the help of BBC Children in Need. This grant will go on to change the lives of so many young people and give them the support they need.”

 

Pam Bacon,Regional Impact Officer, South East at BBC Children in Need, said: “We’re delighted to fund projects like Children with Cancer Fund and can’t wait to see the difference funding makes for young people across the local area. Funds donated by the public allow BBCChildren in Need to continue providing support, guidance and a positive environment for young people and their families.”

About Children with Cancer Fund

 

Children with Cancer Fund (Polegate), also known as ‘CWCF’, are a local charity that support children with cancer and their families, living in East Sussex,Brighton and Hove. CWCF grant wishes to each family member including the child who has received a cancer diagnosis, their parents/carers and siblings. CWCF run a varied calendar ofsocial events to unite families and provide respite stays in caravans across the county.

 

CWCF celebrates its 26th anniversary this year and has supported thousands of local families during this time.
