Looking back on 2019, this year has been another amazing one for CWCF. Thanks to the support of our local community, fundraisers and volunteers we have been able to hold many exciting events for the families we support. Beginning the year with a private screening of the 'Greatest Showman' at Hailsham Pavilion, then our annual trip to Knockhatch, visiting the Llama Park, an afternoon of Pottery Painting at Masterpiece and our trip to the Eastbourne Pantomime with the wonderful Christmas Party, just to name a few.
This year has also seen our 13-18 events grow with many friendships blossoming. We've been lucky enough to hold a range of different, exciting events for the teenagers this year including trampolining at Urban Jump, Pizza and Pottery Painting, Glo Balls Mini Golf and our annual Christmas Meal. Watching the teenagers relax, be themselves and form such special bonds with one another has been wonderful for us all at CWCF to watch.
We are also thrilled to have been able to take another ten families to the Isle of Wight again this year, giving them a chance to meet others in a similar situation and spend quality time together as a family, along with our caravans, Butlins and Bournemouth holidays. All of this would not have been possible without YOUR support.
Not only have we had a fantastic year of family events, we have also had some phenomenal fundraising opportunities this year. 2019 has seen partnerships with amazing groups and organisations, including Drusillas, the Eastbourne and District Indoor Bowls Club and Galliard Healthcare, it's seen sixteen of our supporters climb up all 52 metres of London's 02 Arena and it's also seen us run the Arlington Bluebell Walk for a day. Each of these have been amazing brand new experiences for CWCF, raising a fantastic amount of funds and awareness.
This blog only touches on the wonderful year here at Children with Cancer Fund, and so we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported us, volunteered and fundraised, we really appreciate every effort our volunteers, staff and supporters put in to make CWCF what it is today.
