On Friday 6th and Saturday 7th March, the Hailsham Photographic Society hosted their annual 'Colour Show' showcasing some of their members wonderful photographs and audio visuals (AV's). This year the society kindly chose Children with Cancer Fund to receive some of the proceeds from the show and invited us along to host a games stall in the interval and give a talk about the charity.
Guests were welcomed to into the hall where the audience seats were all set up, along with some beautiful photographs displayed around the hall. The first half of the show begun, where many fantastic AV's were shown, not only were there fantastic photos but many of them told such interesting stories. Once the first half of the show was complete, Chloe gave a presentation to the audience about the charity and thanked everyone for their support. The interval then began where the guests enjoyed some tea and biscuits, bought their raffle tickets and had a go on our games stall which on this occasion was the fantastic - Higher or Lower!
The second half of the show then commenced, showcasing even more wonderful AV's. On the Friday evening, the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Hailsham presented the awards for the show and asked Chloe to come to the front of the hall. To our surprise we were presented with a cheque of £1,500 from the Hailsham Photographic Society - a phenomenal amount that will go such a long way. The audience very kindly filled our buckets with donations, everyone showing such amazing support for our charity.
The final total from the evening will be counted this week and announced on our Facebook page so keep an eye out. Thank you so much to the Hailsham Photographic Society and everyone involved in the evening.
